How to plot checkbox group data when multiple boxes are checked

Justin_Artis May 13, 2020

I have a checkbox group within a form that allows users to select one or more options. The form is then automatically plotted in a pie chart. When a user selects multiple checkboxes, confluence plots the entry as a new data point (chart 1 below). I would like the chart to count only the boxes checked (chart 2 below).

For example, if a user selects A and B from the checkbox group, I would like 1 count for A and 1 count for B, instead of 1 count for A; B. chart.PNG

Hello Justin,

Do you use some macro as a form or a table?

Yes, I used the "ConfiForms Form Field Definition" macro to store the data in a form. I then used a pivot table to count the responses and created a chart from that table which yields the results above.

Hi @Justin_Artis ,

Can you please give us an example of your table after ConfiForms macro? What columns and rows do you have?

As usual, the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app works well with ConfiForms, we'll try to reproduce your case and give you some tips.

@Justin_Artis , we assume that you have smth like that:

Table.png

When you use the Pivot from Table macro with standard settings you count the number of variants (combinations):

Pivot 1.png But if you go to the Options tab and set the Cell value delimiter, you will count letters:

Pivot 2.png Now you can build your chart - it will look as the Chart 2 from your example.
