How to share a page publicly

Javier Alegria March 9, 2022

I want to share a page publicly, so that anyone can view it.

I only want to share 2-3 pages like this, I want the rest of pages keep only visible to members of our space.

I understand public links have been discontinued, https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/share-content-externally-with-public-links/#Publiclinks-HowtoallowordisallowpubliclinksonConfluence.

I find no further info about how to do it with new set-up.

It's affecting our UX and it's forcing us to add users to space just to see this page, incurring unnecessary costs.

Hi @Javier Alegria ,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

You can enable anonymous user access to pages which you want to share with public. The below KB article has all the info regarding the same.

This way you should be able to share your content with public.

I hope the above information helps. Have a good day.!

Thanks,

Srinath T

thanks for the answer, @Srinatha Tondihal .

But I don't want to share my whole space: I Want to just share some specific pages.

As far as I can see, this article explains how to make a whole space accessible to public.

@Javier Alegria Welcome to Confluence. There is a link in the article that @Srinatha Tondihal shared that shows how you can restrict the content.

The first step is setting up Anonymous Access as per the post that @Srinatha Tondihal shared.

The next step is to set up the specific pages you want to share with the Anonymous users:

https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/make-a-space-public/

Good luck!

Thanks so much guys for the fast answer and the welcome @Andy Gladstone @Srinatha Tondihal .

So, the steps are the following.

1) Grant Anonymous access to the space.

2) Go through all pages that I want private & add all users to them.

3) Leave public places viewable for anyone.

correct?

This could be quite a lot of manual work. I am thinking

a) of just restricting main pages, so all child pages get also restricted. This saves me from 40 page restrictions edit to 4.

b) grouping all our team users in one big team, so I just need to add 1 group to the restricted pages instead of 15 colleagues.

Any other tips are welcome. Thanks again,

Javier.

@Javier Alegria ,

Its bit tricky but you can achieve your goal to have public and private stuff in the Space.

First you will have to grant anonymous access and remove the anonymous access from page restrictions.

Thanks,

Srinath T
