The reference here says we can sort column in a table in confluence using the top arrow on the column header. Yet, I do not have that option in my table, any explanation why?
Thank you,
Hi!
I'm happy to share that we have delivered a solution that allows users to easily sort table contents in the editor in Confluence Data Center 8.7. Please see our documentation to learn more about tables.
Kind regards,

Thank You! :)

Sorting is visible after you save the page and it is not in edit mode. If you are editing the page the sorting option will not be available. You also need to make sure that you have column headers that you can sort on. If you do nave a header column you will need to add it.

Hello, I confirm that when viewing the page (not in edit mode) and making sur I have a header row in my table, the little sorting arrow still don't appear. Any idea why?

Did you hover over the headers so the sorting arrows appear?

Yes. I see the arrows on other tables in the same confluence space. But in this one specefic they don't appear, perhaps because of some lines below that are merged ?

I tested on my instance an if lines are merged then sorting is not available.

@Liu_조을이_ the header row does allow sorting on columns. If you merge columns sorting will no longer work. See image below:

Sorry to resurrect this one, but I am trying to enable sorting for a table in a live doc and have no merges and definitely have a header row included but still no joy, any further ideas what I could do to troubleshoot? Thanks.

@BW welcome to the Atlassian community
You will need to switch to the view mode of the document to sort. If you are in edit mode sorting will not be available.

@BW To add to Brant's answer, live docs default into an edit mode but can be flipped into a view-only mode by pressing CMD+SHIFT+E (CNTRL+SHIFT+E for windows machine). Once in view-only mode, any table in the live doc will give you the ability to sort by columns when you hover over the top cell of the column.
You can also click into the overflow menu on the top right of the header area of the live doc and click the "Switch to viewing" button with your mouse. I did quick recording below that shows this. Hope it helps! 🙂

Thanks so much Brant + Dustin! That was exactly it. Not to obvious from get go, but I will memorize 100% :)
