Hi dear Confluence users,
I have a trouble about the Search function: for a given page I have view and edit permission, I cannot find it by search ! Even after a reindex. I'm in 7.12.5 release for server version.
Had you anyone experienced the same case ? And how could be the reason ?
Thanks,
Xavier
Hi @Xavier Tang,
Just a short in the dark, but maybe it could help to rebuild your search index.
EDIT: Sorry, only saw after posting that you already tried this.
How are you exactly searching for your page? Have you tried narrowing the down search by applying space & label filters?
Cheers,
Sven
Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion ! Indeed, the first thing I thought about was to rebuild index. But it did not resolve the trouble. I did different things: check permission, general search without any filter or search within the related space. All tries did not work. Finally, I find that the page has an inherited restriction, but I am able to view and edit the page (I belong to authorized people). I tried without any conviction to remove and recreate restrictions, and then the page can be found by Search ! I repeate the same operation for other branches having restriction but cannot be founnd by search, and eachtime that works!
So, I have no more trouble now. However, it's stranger to have this non documented behaviour and I wonder if it would be related to release update.
Regards,
Xavier

It helped after removal and re-adding of multilevel page restrictions
Step 1 : first remove page restrictions after taking screenshot or screen recorder
Step 2: search page name in search bar, it should work now
Step 3: Re-add page restrictions
Step 4 : re-verify page search is working and restrictions
