Is there a way to mass clear cells in a table?

Randy Oh August 31, 2017

Like in excel, I just want to select a whole column or drag and select multiple cells, and just clear the cell values to blank.

Right now, I have to individually select the values in each cell and then delete and repeat.  Painful.

You can select the values across a row but not a column. It seems to be similar to another issue that some people have found a workaround for.

However, one workaround for columns that I use is to:

  1. add a new column next beside the existing column
  2. copy and paste the heading into the new column
  3. delete the old column

Here is the documentation for those editor buttons: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/tables-136463.html#Tables-Edityourtable

Hope this helps even though it doesn't address your drag-and-select pain.

@Randy Oh hopefully the above helps but there are also related feature requests that you may want to vote on for Confluence Cloud or Confleunce Server.
