Is there a way to selectively export pages/spaces to PDF using predetermined labels?

Hi! I'm Mrinalika, a newbie to Confluence. I'm looking for ways to export confluence pages and spaces to PDFs selectively, perhaps using a predetermined label, etc. 

For example:- I would like to export all the pages across spaces and within a space as PDFs. The catch here is I would like to export only those pages which are labeled as 'product fitment guides'.

Is there a macro or a utility which can help me in achieving this. I'm not looking at selecting manually.

as @Shannon S mentioned, you could try our Scroll PDF Exporter, which allows you to export single pages, trees of pages, and define the export scope of the generated PDF based on certain labels that are set on a page (i.e. only pages with label "product fitment guides" should be exported).

Please note however, that you currently can only export pages that are within the same space - it's not possible to create a single export of pages from different spaces.

Thanks for sharing the capabilities of Scroll PDF Exporter. Will the plugin export unrelated pages within a space based on a common label? 

I've been exploring the trial version of the plugin but looks like only pages weaved in a hierarchy can get exported based on labels.

let me know if I'm missing anything here.

If you start the export from the home page of the space, and pick the wanted label, the result should be as expected (as all pages are stored as a child page of the home page).

I work with Nils here at K15t and we recently released a feature in our Scroll Documents app which enables you to selectively export Confluence pages across page trees and/or spaces based on labels. 

The main purpose of the app is that you can define and manage multiple Confluence pages as a single document. So you can add metadata, save versions, track changes, send read requests, etc.

But the newest feature we introduced is a document composer that enables you to assemble a document from pages anywhere in your instance, tailor the structure and hierarchy, and since the app has an integration with Scroll PDF Exporter, you'll be able to export these documents to PDF using your predefined templates.

I believe what you're looking for might be possible in a few 3rd-party add-ons, such as:

• Content Exporter (Word, PDF, HTML)
• Scroll PDF Exporter for Confluence

You can add these to your instance as a trial and test them out; see if their capabilities are what you're looking for.

Thanks for responding Shannon. I was looking for some solution in-house, instead of going in for 3rd-party add-ons.

Is there a possibility to build some macros ?

Mrinalika,

Writing a User Macro is something limited only to Confluence Server. Even then, something like this might be a bit advanced and so it's hard to say if one could accomplish it from a single User Macro. 

If you'd like to give it a try, you could install an evaluation Confluence Server instance and see if it's something you're able to accomplish with a User Macro.

Thanks for clarifying Shannon.  So I'm assuming from your response that, Writing a User Macro is not possible while on Confluence Cloud and it holds good for any kind of User-defined Macro. 

If this is true, then the only option for getting any additional functionality is via third-party plugins.

This is absolutely correct. For a better idea on what's not possible in Confluence Cloud vs Server, have a look at the Functional Differences in Confluence Cloud.
