Hi everyone, our team wants to build up a "base" project containing many (~100) pages, following a certain page hierarchy and cross-referencing to act as a template confluence project for actual projects (medical device regulation-related development activities)
When we create a new project and try to copy our "base" project pages into the new project, we get an unspecific error (something went wrong, tr again later). Obviously, as we would work with 100s of pages, we would like to avoid copying them all one-by-one, hence, we rely on page hierarchies, but it seems like copying does not work.
We tried various settings on the copy page, all resulted in the same error.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks for your help! The problem still remains. I am trying to copy only 1 page which has 2 subpages and all are basically empty. I try to test this functionality eactly not to do the copying one-by-one in case of a tempalte project having 100s of pages.
Maybe I am trying to solve a problem by wrong approaches anyway...I want to build a template project where all cross-references, hierarchies are set up and then I want to instantiate this template project confluence site for an actual real project to be filled in with content. I thought that copying all pages under one master page might solve the problem. Do you know about another solution in general?
How do large teams - forced to follow a predefined documentation structure - solve it in Confluence?
Cheers,
Laszlo
Hi Laszlo, no problem. I tried to replicate this ie a parent page and 2 blank subpages, and found the copy function is working as expected. If you have support plan, you can raise a ticket with Atlassian support for further help.
Your approach for copying the master copy of pages to other spaces is correct. Alternatively you could have used blueprints, but that will only allow users to select a template while creating new document in your space, I think that is not what you want.

Hi @Laszlo Papp ,
this should be working if you're using the Copy feature in Confluence : https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/move-copy-and-hide-pages/#Move-copy-andhidepages-Copyapageandallofitschildren
Are you on the Free plan ? If yes, you might want to check if maybe you're not going over the 2GB limit : https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/track-storage-and-move-data-across-products/#Trackstorageandmovedataacrossproducts-HowdoItrackstorageforeachproduct
Let me know if this helps,

Hi Alexis,
Many thanks for your quick response!
The steps you sent are the ones we are trying to do but without success (unspecific error - see below, sorry for the German language). We are way below the 2GB limit.
I tried to play around the radio buttons with all posible configurations without success. I also tried to add a prefix for the page names. Any ideas what the issue may be?
Cheers,
Laszlo

Hi @Laszlo Papp are you still facing the issue or is this sorted ? did you try selecting less number of pages and then copy ? just to determine whether the number of pages is the cause here or something else
