According to Programs & Features, Java is not installed but we already have 6.7.1 working so I'm assuming it's not needed.
There's some other error logs as well.
Can anyone shed any light on this please?
Thanks in advance.
I don't think the error is related to your java installation.
the error is: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: write failed
This can be caused by multiple things so it's difficult to say what's going on.
A few things to check:
Remember you can always contact Atlassian Support for upgrade issues. They will ask you for the full log file.
EDIT: the solution was to stop Confluence before
Hi Charlie, thanks for your response.
Yes, Java is not installed on either machine so it cannot relate to this. There is 72.6 GB free disk space and the account being used to run this installation (logged in user) has full control over the installation directory.
How would I ensure that Confluence has the correct permissions? There is already version 6.7.1 installed so I'm assuming Confluence would already have the permissions required from this original installation?
Thanks

Hi
Another question: did you stop the existing Confluence instance when performing the upgrade?
I suggest you contact Atlassian support and provide them more log files.

Hi Charlie,
No, the upgrade instructions provided by Atlassian said nothing about stopping the existing instance. I've provided the link to the instructions I was given.
I have raised a support ticket with them and am waiting for a response but I was wondering if anyone here could shed any light on this problem in the meantime.
Thanks
