Jira Core Issue created in Confluence doesn't "connect" via Macro by itself

Alexander Siehler March 17, 2020

hey guys, quite confusing question but please let me try to explain.

i recently worked on a confluence document and was creating jira core issues from the confluence page (both cloud). while i did, these appeared on the page (pic).Anmerkung 2020-03-17 190918.jpg

since then i worked on multiple confluence documents and created issues but was never able to achieve the "link" again. it creates the issues inside the chosen business project on jira core, but doesn't link them on the confluence page. is anyone able to help? what do i need to do?

Hello @Alexander Siehler !

As I understand, you are having problems when creating issues in Jira via text highlight in Confluence. With this behavior in mind, I was able to find a bug that is currently open and tackles a behavior pretty similar to the one you are facing.

The workaround would be to manually insert the Jira issues macro after you create the issue. Here is a better outlook on the Issues macro:

I hope this sheds some light on the situation! Looking forward to your reply.

Hey,

thanks a lot! This seems to be the bug! Will use the workaround until resolved.
