We have a set of people who have access to Confluence but not Jira, so they do have Atlassian accounts. We want to give them some *very* basic transparency about what items are already in a project backlog so that they can know that their bug or feature request is already a known item.
I was hoping that I could create a Confluence page that would embed the backlog with the Jira Issue Filters Macro - all the users would need to do is scroll through the list, they don't need to click through to see individual issues or take any action on them in Jira itself.
However, upon setting this up, I'm being told by these folks that they cannot see any issues on the page, instead being given a permissions error:
Frustratingly, when I use the Permission Helper, it seems to indicate this person ought to be able to browse the project and thus view the issues:
What am I missing here?
Hi @Louis Hellman - This will not work if the users do not have access to the JIRA filter that you have used in your Jira Issue/Filter macro. So the users should also have JIRA access if they want to view the issues on the Confluence page via the Jira issue/filter macro.
Is there somewhere where we can ask as a new feature, to show the contents within the macro even if users do not have a JIRA license. To show what is in the macro to display, links dont have to work. I am experiencing the same issue as Louis at our company.
We have a group of users we are posting release notes in a Confluence page and adding additional licenses can be rather costly so users can view the macro details.
Hopefully ONE DAY!

You have a valid use case, so yes, you can suggest a new feature, by creating an account then use the Create button in the header here
Hope this helps.

Thank you, I appreciate the link and comment! Before I create one, I'll check if there is a search option in this page. I will I tried to look for one somewhere to vote on - I will check here first.
We did find an app from the app store that does show the tickets in a JIRA Software project. Its a few $ a month but gets the job done until the macro/new feature in Confluence comes out. The app is: JIRA Snapshots.

Yes, that's a better option until similar feature is released by Atlassian.

hi Kishan,
Thank you so much! I browsed the feature request space and did not find anything specific to the permissions and no license. I put in a ticket for a future feature request and details. Appreciate your time to comment & help.
JST-756612 - my ticket for reference. hopefully they turn it into something for the backlog.

@Miriam Hopton Thanks for the JIRA Snapshot suggestion, that app will probably fulfill our purpose perfectly. Maybe even better than regular Jira Filter Macro, as you can even compare different versions of snapshots.
