This is on Confluence Cloud. I've been using the "jira" macro for some time, often just to link to a specific ticket. What I expect is that the link will render as a widget with the ID, summary and status of the ticket.
This is currently not working - the links show up as regular URLs and not as widgets when the page is previewed or published.
In edit mode they show up as widgets.
I've tried in both the latest Firefox and Chrome, and have also deleted cache and cookies to no avail.
Note that the connection to Jira is working - on the same page I also have several tables with the Jira macro showing a list of issues.
Thanks in advance!
Hello @Patrick Wright !
As I understand, the Jira Issues Macro displays the issue as a link instead of rendering the macro view when the Single Issue view is selected.
I tried to replicate the behavior you described but was ultimately unable. Here is what I see:
Edit Mode:
View Mode:
The closest I go to the described issue was when the macro temporarily displayed the issue as a link instead of the macro while loading:
With this in mind, I would like to ask you a few questions. Here we go:
- What happens if you create a new page and insert only one Jira Issues macro in it?
- Are the Jira Issues macros inside the table you mentioned displaying correctly?
- Could you take a screenshot of the behavior for us?
- Have you tried to edit the Jira Issue link that was created before publishing the page?
Something to keep in mind when taking the screenshot is that our community is an open space and you should keep an eye out for sensitive data within your screenshots. Everyone can see everything that is posted here.
Let us hear from you!
Hi Diego,
Thanks for the detailed response. I'm glad I can finally test this further and get back to you.
1. in a new, blank page, the embed works
2. i'm not using a table in this case, and none of the Jira macro links are rendering correctly on that page (see possible explanation below).
3. attached
4. i created a new issue to test against and reproduce the behavior
I think I figured it out: the links do not render when published if inside a "table of contents zone" block on the page. They do render while editing.
I tried several cases (normal, inside excerpt, inside expand, inside table) and this was the only one that failed to render.
That's unfortunate (the TOCZ is a neat feature in the case of the page where I was originally working). If you don't know of a workaround, I suppose we should file a bug report?
Thanks!
Patrick
