On a cloud hosted confluence space we have a live search macro of just our space. When using it unless the entire word is populated it doesn’t return anything.
I’ve put some screenshots below for examples. I’m hoping there is a way to either fix the behavior of the livesearch macro, or an alternative macro perhaps?
Example of it finding what we want:
However with a live search we expected it to start searching as soon as there are 2 or 3 characters. However this is not working:
See here with 4 characters of the word above and it’s not finding anything, however obviously there is content that would match that string:
There is a workaround. We can add an asterisk at the end and it works as expected. However we would prefer this asterisk was just auto-assumed:
Hello there Trevor, thanks for sharing with the Community!
Currently, there are two reports aiming at this behaviour:
CONFCLOUD-7667 | User search should use implicit wildcards, i.e. should be a substring search
CONFCLOUD-32698 | Live Search Macro doesn't show result unless the search query is in full word
The report under 32698 has the In Progress status and also has the most votes and watches under it. The best course of action would be to vote and watch said report. Currently, there is no roadmap that we are able to share with a release date for this improvement.
