When creating a document in Confluence Cloud, one of the URL links, which points to a GitHub query result, is not being saved. I suspect that it's too long, because a bitly link in the same spot works (and correctly redirects).
I've searched and am unable to find a way to adjust the max length of the link field in the Confluence DB (in fact, I can't find how to do any edits to the Confluence db config).
So two questions:
1. How likely is it that the URL length is the problem? (other links are working and it is a valid URL that works when brought in as a bitly link)
2. How can I fix that and/or edit the DB config?
Thanks!
Hi Karen, allow me to reply to your questions separately:
1. I've tried reproducing this issue myself in my Confluence Cloud site, and after entering a long url I could save the page fine. Can you let me know your site name and affected page so I can have a look? (If you don't want to share this information publicly in the Community, you can submit a ticket at support.atlassian.com :) )
2. Confluence Cloud users don't have access to the database, as that's a restricted function in Cloud so you won't be able to edit the DB config. If you'd like to have access to the database, you'll need to opt for Confluence Server.
Regards!
Hi Ana,
Thank you for the response - good to know that I wasn't just missing the DB configuration!
I will open a ticket shortly with the details.
Much appreciated!
Karen
