Make attachments automatically download on local computer

I have created a KB article and attached an Excel file. Is there a way to make attachments download automatically on the local computer? The local computer would belong to a user who is reading my article. I do not have full admin access so cannot check, and not able to find a knowledge article online.

What's the reasoning behind having an Excel spreadsheet as an attachment to a KB article?

Hi Dave, it is a template and the KB goes through the fields and explains how it should be populated and used to load some big data sets. My question focuses on the system's capability to automatically download the attachment on the reader's laptop.

If it were to download automatically when visiting the KB article (Confluence page), it would be downloaded every time the page is visited, even if I just want to look at the KB article and prefer not to download the Excel spreadsheet.

Apart from that, it is not possible to my knowledge.

That wraps it up well. At least now I know... What you explained makes sense for most audiences, although in our case it is for IT admins so wouldn't have been an issue.
