Hi.
Does anyone have recommendations or insight into managing anonymous users? Specifically, I'd like to learn if I can hide certain elements on the page, such as
Unfortunately I'm having trouble locating docs. For example, when I searched Atlassian's documentation and filtered by 'cloud', the results still return docs for the server version.
Thank you,
Justin
Hi Justin,
It's not possible to customize the view for Anonymous Users at this time, but we have a few feature requests for it:
CONFCLOUD-58930 Improved view for public (anonymous) users
CONFCLOUD-57870 Ability to hide sidebar from anonymous users (Closed, this is not in our roadmap at this time.)
CONFCLOUD-55817 Customize the display buttons on public spaces
Please feel free to vote on the ones that are of interest to you and comment with your usage case.
As for our documentation, there's usually a switcher at the top right of the documentation if there's also a version for Cloud:
If there's not, the article may only apply to Server, and there is not a Cloud version.
In addition, you can usually tell if the documentation is for Cloud or Server, due to the URL formatting:
I hope that helped clarify things for you! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Shannon
Hi Shannon,
Thank you.
Not trying to be negative but from what I have seen features aren't delivered very quickly.
Also, this was the page I landed on: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-hide-the-space-directory-button-for-anonymous-users-816877015.html. I have seen the buttons you referenced but not on that particular page that I found by searching cloud docs.

Hi Justin,
The confkb URL just means that it's a knowledge base article as opposed to documentation. These are usually created as one-off articles by Atlassian team members. The case is usually that it is a specific functionality that is requested often, and we've either found a workaround for it, or the workflow isn't very obvious by reading the documentation.
This particular article mentions Custom HTML, so for that reason you can see that it's written for Confluence Server. This is due to the fact that Custom HTML is not possible in Confluence Cloud. In addition, there's a note at the top:
This Knowledge Base article was written specifically for the Atlassian Server platform. Due to the Functional differences in Atlassian Cloud, the contents of this article cannot be applied to Atlassian Cloud applications.
As for delivering feature requests, these are worked on separately from bug tickets and have a different priority, therefore they aren't released as quickly. You can review how we prioritize those features from the page Implementation of New Features Policy. The more votes and comments a feature request gets the more likely it will be addressed sooner, whether it's to decide to work on it, or reject it due to it not fitting in with our upcoming roadmap.
I hope that clarifies things! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Regards,
Shannon
