I am trying to load a 2,112 KB PDF to a Confluence database 'Media and files' type field and the loading arch just keeps turning around. I did a search and the information I have is that this field should accept up to 100 MB.
The attachment maximum size is set to 104857600 Bytes (104.8576 MB).
What can I do to resolve this please?
Kind regards,
Glyn
Sorry to hear you are having issues with the uploading of attachments into the databases.
I have tested adding some PDFs, from 72KB and others with size up to 9,2 MB to see if it would make any difference there on the Confluence database 'Media and files' type field, but all of them uploaded successfully, so it seems the feature is working as expected, at least on the test sites on production that we tested.
With that in mind, we would like to confirm which browser are you using, and which version.
If you are not using one of the supported browsers listed here, and is not on the latets version, please try updating the browser and/or using a supported browser.
Additionally, does it happen if you try on incognito/in-private window?
If you try on a different network connection, such as another wifi, or even using your 4G/5G connection in your machine, does it work differently?
Regards,
Jessica
Hi @Jessica ,
Thank you so much for your help. It seems to be a bit hit and miss with the uploading. Yesterday I was uploading files (one at a time of varying sizes; however, none over 2 MB) and two failed; however, were successful on the second try. I had a period when all the files uploaded very quickly and then the rest of the files were very slow in uploading.
I am using Chrome Version 135.0.7049.86 (Official Build) (64-bit). I will try incognito next time I am uploading. I am using wired ethernet at the client's office in Bondi Junction. I did a speed test which showed 94.0/94.8.
Kind regards,
Glyn

Thanks for sharing more information and performing additional tests, @Glyndwr Bartlett
How did it go in incognito and in another browser? Were you able to test with another internet connection to confirm the uploading issue as well, besides the speed test?
Depending on the case, if it continues to fail in incognito, another browser and specially another internet connection, we might need to investigate further.
If that is still happening with another connection, or even if you want to check if this is something else, please let me know and we can try to find more information on a HAR file, but we would need to continue that in a support ticket, to share attachments and try to access your site to see if we can find anything wrong there. :)
Regards,
Jessica

Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your input. It seems to be a Confluence glitch as I can go into the created page, select 'Edit' and add the manual into the database on the page.
Kind regards,
Glyn

Even though the file is small, the upload might fail due to a browser issue, weak internet, a glitch in Confluence, or hidden permissions.
Refresh the page, clear your browser cache, or try a different browser or internet connection. If it still doesn't work, contact your Confluence admin or support to check the backend.

Hi @sanam malleswari ,
Thank you for your input. It seems to be a Confluence glitch as the browser and internet are fine, the backend of Confluence is set up correctly and I have full access.
Kind regards,
Glyn

Further Information.
I am using 'Page Link' to create a page for each hardware item added under the Hardware parent page. When I go into the created page and select 'Edit' I can add the manual.
This adds an unnecessary extra step.
Kind regards,
Glyn
