We are using Confluence Cloud and have also purchased Confluence Server. We don't have much just yet in the Cloud version but would like to migrate that to the Server version.
Can you tell me when migrating from Confluence Cloud to Confluence Server via these steps https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/migrate-from-confluence-cloud-to-server-724765578.html, will the functionality/data on Cloud still remain? Along with a newly migrated Server version?
Or perhaps there is a better way to do this, export import a space, or backup on the Cloud and restore on the Server?
Thank you.
Hello Bren,
When you export data from any Atlassian product, you're merely taking a copy of the data to import elsewhere. Meaning your data is still present in the cloud product until you choose to terminate your cloud subscription. With this said, if your goal is to remove all data from the cloud products, then please have a look at Cancel your site subscription.
The method of exporting and importing space by space is the best way to move data with an actively used Confluence instance. If your Confluence instance is not used at all, then the cloud backup and restore option may also work for you. You migration method all depends on if Confluence is used at all during the migration process.
Along the lines of migration, I would be interested to know the reason for migrating out of the cloud product and onto the server product. Were there any requirements that were not meet with the cloud offering?
If you run into any issues with your migration, please reach out so we may ensure you stay up and running!
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
