Migration fails with "Cloud site already has this space"

Kilian Hann November 14, 2022

The Cloud migration fails at about 80% with the error "Cloud site already has this space" although the space does not exist on the cloud side (anymore).

During a previous migration atempt it has been created but deleted afterwards.

Any ideas on how to delte it completely if there are any traces left?

Hi @Kilian Hann

are you 100% sure that there's no space existing? Did you check in the administration of your instance Settings - Space Permissions? There you also can restore the permissions in case you have no access to the space (and therefore cannot see it in the Space Directory).

Best, Max

Yes, you are right, in 'Settings - Space permissions' the old space still exists. How can I get rid of it?

it's empty anyways..

Did you try to delete it again from the space settings?

Kilian Hann November 14, 2022

Yes, I also tried using the direct link as suggested in Resolution 1

It remains visible in the space permissions. Do I need to re-index or something?

There's no re-indexing on Cloud, and if the space still exists after you tried to delete it multiple times, I think you should reach out to Atlassian support. There's not much you can do "wrong" on your end. Either delete or archive the space. If it persists after deleting it, that's wrong... 😅

Best, Max
