Need to re-add search box to sidebar

We were using the 'Documentation' theme, and upgraded from 5 to 6.5.   Apparently the recent upgrade completely removed the Documentation Theme.   The only non-paid theme now is the 'Default' which does not have a 'Search' box in the left nav (sidebar).  

Does anyone have any ideas on how to regain this functionality?

This worked for me to add page tree search in sidebar. Using Atlassian Confluence 6.11.1, themed by RefinedTheme 6.1.0

1. Click 'Space Layout' from the admin menu from the particular space settings
2. Navigate to left column, at the bottom, click 'Add'
3. Click '+' icon and select 'Other macros'
4. Type 'search' on the top right corner and select 'Page Tree Search' and click 'update'
5. Drag it to the top and click save
6. Search appeared on the left sidebar
