Hello,
I am new in Confluence, please help me to understand why I am not able share spaces with some users, or can't add some users in space permissions just because those users are not available to be chosen. I have added those users in confluence-users group and they have already logged in to Confluence... Also I am able to see those users when I click Find users in user management.
Thanks in advance
That worked for me:
As an Administrator of your Server instance:
<Confluence Address>/admin/force-upgrade.action
For Cloud instances:
https://[instancename].atlassian.net/wiki/display/~[username]
https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/missing-people-in-confluence-people-directory-779166036.html
If that is not working rebuild the Content Index
@Maro Hamamjyan : Are you on Confluence Cloud, DC or Server...?
It's an odd solution that I sometimes have to do a work around but try the surname in upper case: Hyak BABAJANYAN
Do you have a designated Admin in the company responsible for assisting? (Or are you the admin...?)

Hi Andy,
I am the admin and we are using server confluence.
My problem was solved when I removed the user from AD confluence-users group and just left the user in Confluence confluence-users group. After some time the user appeared in Ad confluence-users group too, but this time with no problem. Thanks very much for your support.

If you are into the space permissions already try to refresh it and search for those users that you've just created.
Also if its a space that is available generally make sure confluence-users group is added into the space permission, that will grant them access from the start. In the situation where that space needs to be available for a group of people, try to create a group, give them permissions in the space permissions and the only thing you will need to do is make sure you give them permissions to access confluence and add them into that group.

Hi Mihai,
Thanks for your reply.
Can you please tell me how should I give users permission to access confluence? Is there any other way rather than to add them in confluence-users group? confluence-users group is added under Groups section in space permissions, but I still am not able to share my space with a user that is in that group.

@Maro Hamamjyan- make sure that you've selected the permissions for that group, simply adding the group into the space permissions isn't enough you need to select which kind of operations you permit them to do.
Check this article it should help you understand more about the space permissions: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/space-permissions-overview-139521.html

Hi @Mihai Schwarz ,
Thanks for article and for trying to help. I have decided to attach screenshots in order to explain situation. We are using server based Confluence, I have synchronized it with our AD, and I am able to find any user in user management, but no opportunity to add any user in a space...

Did you tried to search for his username?
Sometimes Confluence cannot find users if you write their name.
I am waiting for your feedback.

In any case, weather I write name or username it brings "No matches found"

@Maro Hamamjyanmake sure that the LDAP directory is the first directory in the list in User Directory. If this doesn't work. Try to access the LDAP directory settings from User Directories and test the connection settings.
