Notification on a part of a page

Is it possible to get a notification when only a part of a page changes?

Is it furthermore possible to disable the notify watchers checkbox? So watchers are always notified at changes?

Hi Arno,

We've had a request specifically to notify when text within the {include} macro changes, but have decided not to pursue it:

I'm not sure if that's the type of change you were referring to, but regardless, a notification will go out when any native part of a page is changed. There isn't a way to specify notifications for only certain sections.

As for your question about Notify Watchers, I am not sure what you are asking.

By default, the Notify Watchers checkbox is marked, causing watchers to be notified. If a user wants to uncheck it, they can do so, and watchers will not be notified. Once a user unchecks this, Confluence 5.8 and above will remember this setting.

If you want to disable it globally, you can do that using a script:

Do note that if you have Confluence Cloud, then it's not possible to use this workaround.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

Thank yiu very much for your reply.

This request is indeed what I was looking for. Unfortunately this is not going to be picked up, so I can inform the user this is not possible.

Kind regards,
