Hi,
I'm using Confluence at work, version 5.10.3
I'm trying to publish an excel file using the Office Excel Macro but when the page renders the columns are very large and the expand horizontally so a user has to scroll right. I'd like to specify the column width and have the text within the cells wrap. My question is:
- is formatting flexibility available within the Office Excel Macro? If yes, please teach me.
- is Office Excel Macro the best way to display an excel file within Confluence 5.10.3?
Thanks in advance
Hi Salman,
I don't work too much in the Office Excel Macro, however, Addteq provides a great add-on that allows you to work in an Excel like spreadsheet right in Confluence.
Try Excellentable here: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/Addteq.Excellentable/server/overview
I know there is a free 30 day trial available so that you can begin working now!
Feel free to comment back if you have any questions.
Thanks Jaclyn,
I did try the Excellentable macro and it's pretty good but I'm trying to find how to perhaps code certain column widths in HTML. My table has close to 2,000 rows and 11 columns (so its big) and the built in features of adjusting column widths is not working due to the sheer size. The Office Excel macro is pretty good too but again the presentation is no good.
I'm looking for a nice neat table laid out in full on the page so users can CTRL+F on the page and search for anything OR simply scroll up/down.
IF anyone knows any way to code column widths in HTML please let me know.

@[deleted] I'm the product owner of Excellentable. We are working on a functionality to render spreadsheet as html as an option in the view mode. We recently released collaborative editing in beta mode and our team is busy ironing out some of the issues to take it out of beta. Providing different view and print options is in road map.
