PDF files are 10x larger now

PDF files are 10x larger now

Our (Flying Saucer generated) PDF file sizes are 10x larger than they were during our last release cycle (3 months ago). Has anyone come across this or know of any troubleshooting tips? Ex: A file that was 25 MB is now 250 MB.

Maybe you can start by saying how you create the PDF files ;)

Thanks Patrick. We use Space Tools > Content Tools > Export (PDF). We usually select sections from the PDF for export. We rarely export an entire space. Something happened in the last few weeks that has increased the file size 10 times. We are trying to isolate the issue but have not found it yet.

We haven't upgraded Confluence. We did update a few plugins, but we tested by disabling all one at a time and running the export. No luck. :)

I am not 100% sure, but I think we had the same issue long time ago. Don't remember what caused the issue. Maybe best to contact Confluence support.
