Page name link says page not available but search returns the page

Hi experts,

e are using Confluence server version 7.12.3.

We have linked to a page using a page name hyperlink, which when clicked returns the error :

We can't find that page. This could be because:

  • The page doesn't exist.
  • The page exists, but you don't have view permission for that space.

Neither of them is correct.

  1. The page exists, and I can find it by searching.
  2. I have Confluence Admin permission and am listed as an editor on the page.
  3. If I use the URL to the page, it works.
  4. I have just re-run the page ancestors job with no change.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Kathryn.

Hi @Kathryn Reddie

If you are part of the super users group you should be able to access the page. This error occurs when user doesn't have access to the space and the page within that space having view restrictions set on them. Some times, the user is added with view permissions on the page but doesn't have access to the underlying space. Please check if that is the case here.

Hi,

I have full access to both the space and the page, including edit access.

Hi @Kathryn Reddie thanks for confirming. SometimesI rebuilding the ancestor table help in such cases.

Hi @Kishan Sharma ,

I have had this occur again on a different page, however, rebuilding the ancestor table didn't work this time.

Any other tips or tricks I could try?

Hi @Kathryn Reddie Ah ok, I just knew that solution for such issues, but I would suggest raising a support ticket to Atlassian Support for further for help. Please also post here if you get any solution from them.
