Problem with cyrillic article names

Dmitriy Ivannikov October 5, 2021

Hello!

We run Confluence Server 7.13.0. We faced such a problem:

  • Links to articles with English names are looking fine (for example, we create an article in the TRAIN space, and we name it "New Article". And the link is https://<confluence_instance>/display/TRAIN/New+Article)\
  • Links to articles with Russian names do not work correctly. We create another article in this space, and we name it "Новая статья" (which is "New article" in Russian). And the link is https://<confluence_instance>/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=41291643

What is the problem? How can we fix it?

Hi @Dmitriy Ivannikov

This seems like a bug - you can view it here, login with your Atlassian account to vote for it and watch it for further updates.

Please also refer this link for troubleshooting character encoding issues, If you're still having problems with character encoding, create a support request, and Atlassian support team will help you to solve the problem.

Well, I checked the character encoding in General Configurations, and it's UTF-8 for Confluence and "database, tables and columns are all correctly using the utf8 or utf8mb4 character set".

Thanks for confirming Igor, I think raising a ticket with Atlassian support will help since the bug is already in Long term backlog and they will be able to advise further.

Unfortunately, that is not an option for us since we are using a Starter Licence (which costs $10). Atlassian no longer offers personal support for Starter Licenses.
