We are having problems with exporting out pages to pdf.
When the page is exported the images are jumbled in the pdf output.
I made a test page which only includes 3 images, like this:
When this page is exported it is random which images are shown.
I exported the page three times (never changed anything between exportations) and got:
- IMG 2, IMG 2, IMG 3
- IMG 1, IMG 3, IMG 3
- IMG 3, IMG 3, IMG 3
When I export to Word everything is ok.
Does anyone recognize this problem?
Edda,
On the page, you only have the 3 images, correct? There are no other macros on the page?
Does this happen on any page with multiple images?
What version of Confluence are you using?
Thank you for your help!
Regards,
Shannon
Hi
Yes, there are only these three images and nothing else on the page. It seems to happen on any page with multiple images.
We are using Confluence 6.7.2
It is Confluence Server and most of the images are .png, but this also happens when .jpg's are used.

Hi Edda,
I'm not able to replicate this issue in Confluence, so something tells me you may have some sort of customization that is reordering the images.
Do you have any PDF rendering customization on the instance?
Can you also confirm if the images themselves are attached to the page in Confluence, or are they being referenced from elsewhere?

Shannon

Hi Shannon
This is a problem on all of our spaces and this used to work fine until the latest update on confluence. There are some PDF rendering customization but not for all spaces (and not globally) and there have been no changes made since the update.
I've tried:
Every time I export to PDF the pictures are jumbled.

Edda,
Thank you!
The only thing I can find related to it is this:
But you mentioned there are no other plugins on the page, and that it happens to all pages. I'm at a loss for what would cause this.
Therefore, I have created a support ticket for you so we can get further details from your instance.
Please check your email and await my colleague's response there.

Are you on Confluence Cloud or Server? If server, what version?
What are the file types of the images themselves?

Server, Confluence 6.7.2
And the images are .png and .jpg

We're experiencing the same problems since we upgraded to Confluence Server 6.7.2.

Hi Maarten,
The issue with this case was a custom stylesheet. If you remove any customizations can you let us know if you have the same issue?

Hi Shannon,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that doesn't work for us. I've emptied global and space PDF export css to no avail.
Kind regards,
Maarten

Maarten,
Thank you for confirming that. So the exact issue is present; your images all get moved out-of-order when you perform the pdf export?
Could you please put Confluence in Safe Mode and confirm if the issue persists?

Shannon

Hi Shannon,
I took a while to pick a good moment to start in safe mode. I've tried in safe mode with all custom css on and all custom css off, but none of it solved my issue. I'm a bit clueless now.
I'm going to try to export my space to another instance with the Scroll PDF exporter add on. Hopefully this workaround helps me until the issue is fixed in my instance...

Thank you, Maarten.

Although this is a very late reply I wanted to let you know that the issue vanished since we upgraded to 6.13.0 last december.
