Hello all,
Recently we've experienced issues in Confluence due to a full disk space. We found out that this was because the "Back Up Confluence" Job had been enabled in the Scheduled Jobs page. We've always had this turned off since we have our own backup procedures, but suddenly, out of the blue, it was turned on.
The first time it executed was at 2AM on January 17th, so we hypothesize that this option was turned on the day before, on the 16th. We did a manual export at around 6pm-7pm on the 17th, so I don't think that's what caused it.
Are there any known bugs that could potentially turn Confluence Back Ups on? If not, is there some way to find out who might have turned it on? I've checked the audit log and found nothing there. As for the Confluence logs, unfortunately they only date back to the 18th and we cannot see anything before that. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Shirley
There's nothing in Confluence that would switch the backups on - the only way to do it is with a new installation or by an admin enabling it.
That's very strange. I don't see any reason why any of our admins would turn it on, and we have not updated Confluence or its plugins recently. All I can think of is that coincidentally, on the day the first automatic backup was run, we did a manual export.
I guess for now we will keep monitoring it to see if it happens again somehow. Thanks for your prompt answer!
