Scroll Versions: Version tree

Bernd Schneider

Hello everybody,

we are using Scroll Versions with a more complicated version tree (not only succeeding versions based on the last one). The version tree is only visible to administrators, but for editing it is vital to know which version is based on which.

Is it possible in any way to make the version tree visible without granting admin permissions to everybody?

Thanks & best regards,
Bernd

Hi @Bernd Schneider,

this is possible with the help of Scroll Viewport. Each version has to be published to a separate space, then a version picker in a Viewport theme would combine those spaces into versions.

There is a help article about this approach: https://help.k15t.com/scroll-viewport/latest/switching-between-spaces-published-by-scroll-versions-140550282.html.

Could you please read it and let me know if it helps?

Roman.

Hi @roman,

sorry, but this seems to be about seeing the content of different versions in a different space through viewports.

What I wanted to achieve is, to let the users see the actual graphical version tree (which version depends on which) on the original authoring space. Recenty I found our that this  can be done using the version overview accessible through the version link on each page.

Thanks to you anyway! Goddto see that these things are possible with the viewport feature. I am not experienced with viewports yet, but shoould have a look into them.

Best regards,
Bernd
