Seeking root cause of "License information . . . . . : Notify your administrator that Bob Swift Atla

David H Stannard June 15, 2020

I'm looking for I'm helping a client. They have valid license for version 8.4.0 for Bob Swift's Confluence CLI add-on.

I've installed version 8.4.0 of the client on a Linux host in case the most recent version would be incompatible with an older add-on.

License information . . . . . : Notify your administrator that Bob Swift Atlassian Apps - Confluence Command Line Interface (CLI) requires a valid license. Reason: VERSION_MISMATCH

The testing instructions suggest that I have correctly installed the client. The "confluence.sh --action getServerInfo --outputFormat 2" works. So I assume that I have correctly installed both the client and the add-on. The add-on is enabled.

What steps do I need to perform to identify the cause and then correct this?

Adding this discovery: I switched the valid license (but with expired support) to a trial license. And automagically, it solved the problem. I assumed that expired maintenance wouldn't be the problem ... but my assumption seems invalid.

Is my conclusion correcct?

Thank you,

Hi @David H Stannard ,

Thank you for submitting the request with us. Sorry to hear that you are facing a problem with our App.

We are from BobSwift support team and we have created a support request on behalf of you in our portal. Please sign up to our portal and let us know once you are successful with the sign up process. We will add you as the reporter and then you can access the support ticket: SUPPORT-4184

Usually, we face "VERSION_MISMATCH" error for the below scenario.
"A license is invalid if the app's build date is greater than or equal to the license's maintenance expiration date.
That is, if the license says that support is only available through 1/1/2012, then an existing installation of an app version with a build date of 1/1/2011 will continue working indefinitely, but if you install a new version built on 1/2/2012 or later it will not work with the old license."

For more information please go through the VERSION_MISMATCH Error page.

Can you please provide us the below details to analyze the issue further.

  • Please make sure your UPM (Universal Plugin Manager) is at the latest level for the instance version.
  • Screenshot of the Confluence Command Line Interface(CLI) app with details. Also, let us know if the Confluence instance/app was upgraded recently.

Thanks,
Raja
