Share a single Confluence page with public access

Hi everyone,

We need to share a single Confluence page with anyone, because it's a job description. So anonymous users should be able to click the link, see the content and apply to the job.

But when the space is set to anonymous access, people can see the side bar with the list of the other pages in the same space and also the top bar with buttons that should not be there, if user does not has app access.

How can I share a Confluence page, the same way as we share Google Docs pages? Everyone should be able to see the page content, but should not be able to see the other pages in the same space.

Thanks,

Gui.

Hi @Gui Ávila ,

This feature is currently rolling out: ticket

You can try following the documentation to see if you already have access.

If not, I recommend contacting support and asking if it's possible to be enrolled early.

Just keep in mind that if you have Anonymous Access enabled, you can't enable Public Links: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/publishing/give-basic-online-access#GiveBasicOnlineAccess-ShareaPage

If you need to share only one page, as other mentioned, anonymous users can navigate to other pages or spaces that are also public.

One alternative is to export as word/PDF and upload to a public cloud folder, share the link from them.

To fix this, we developed and app that let you embed a page without any header/sidebar/footer

You can share the direct link or embed the page into your website.

Hi @Gui Ávila

giving view permission to anonymous users opens all included pages and their subpages with no restrictions to be viewed by anonymous users.

To change this you can rather set restrictions on all pages that should not be seen (parent pages will give them to childpages) or you open a seperate space just for jop applies which you open for anonymous access.

Hope this could help you.

Hi @Fabienne Gerhard

Thanks for your help.

Yes, I already have a space only for Job applies. That's what I did. But I wanted to share only a specific page, of a specific job. It does not make sense for the anonymous user to see all the other pages (other jobs).

Also, anonymous users can click on "Spaces" button (on the top bar) and see the Knowledge Base space, because it's also set for anonymous access.

What I'm looking for is really simple: share a single page with someone who does not have a Confluence app license. Make a single page set for anonymous users.

Thanks,

Gui.

Hi @Gui Ávila

oh I see. But to show only one single to a certain user can will be tricky... For this you normally have users and groups doing this.

Normally I would say using html and CSS would work but I'm not sure if this really works out anymore. Is it bad that anonymous users also have access to the other jobs and the knowledge base? I mean maybe the user finds also a better fitting job there. And knowledge base was opened for anonymous users for a certain reason as well.

If you wanna give CSS a try check out this - but I'm really not sure about this.
