I don't fully understand your question. Where do you want to store what data exactly?
If you want to store a full site backup of your Confluence Cloud instance locally (offline, in your servers, or similar storage), you can create site backups:
That's Atlassian's recommended way of taking occasional offline backups in addition to their automated daily backups using Automated Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS). You can read more about that in their How Atlassian Manages Customer Data article.
Storing the backup of your site in Confluence itself is contrary to what a backup should be.
Our IT would like to create periodic backup files of our data on confluence cloud. They would like to store this data locally, that is on our servers.
Right know we use the server version of confluence which will no longer be available. As we are to small for data center, we might need to switch to Cloud but only if there is a local backup option. I will forward your answer to our Sys Admin and we might get back to you if there are more open questions.

Only one backup file is stored at a time. Any existing backup is overwritten by the new one.
We regularly make backups of your data for application recovery purposes. However, these backups cannot be used to roll back changes. Learn more about how we back up your data.
To back up all data of your Confluence instance:
Do either of the following:
If your site has multiple Cloud applications, choose the cog icon at the top right, then choose Confluence Admin. Choose Backup Manager in the left-hand navigation panel.
If your site has Confluence only, choose (Settings) in the Confluence navigation in the header, then choose Backup Manager.
If you want to include attachments, select Back up attachments.
Choose Create Backup.
After the backup is complete, you will see the link to the backup file. You can download the file by following the link.
This is the response I could find online but does that mean that we can store backup data on our servers when using Confluence Cloud? This is an important criteria for our decision to move from Server to Cloud.
