In our company we use Confluence to record meeting minutes/notes.
There are some meeting minutes/notes that are confidential and we don't want everyone having access to view.
Currently the only way I know how to restrict access is to manually restrict everyone and only manually grant it to the individuals I want to see those meeting minutes.
This process takes time each time, plus exposes to risk if the person recording the notes forgets to restrict access to those notes.
Is there a more streamline way where we automatically restrict access to everyone, and automatically only grant access to those individuals tagged on that specific page? That way it occur automatically to save time and make it more fool proof.
Hi @Mark Deacon In addition to Jimmy's answer, you can also think of creating a page at the root level eg: named Private, and then add view/edit permissions to only those users who should be able to view/edit child pages under it. You can then ask those users to create meeting minutes under the parent Page - Private. This way only those specific users will be able to view/edit pages under it.

Hi @Mark Deacon ,
Like @Jimmy Seddon mentioned, you could consider using a different space for the restricted content and then set the default permissions at the space level.
Alternatively, you could use Compliance for Confluence to apply classification levels to the restricted page (e.g. Restricted Meeting Notes) and then set up the access restrictions (users or groups) that apply to the level. These restrictions would be applied automatically to any page that is changed to that level.
I hope these suggestions help.
Thanks,
Craig

Hi @Mark Deacon ,
Have you considered using a separate for this restricted content? That way you could control the default permissions at the space level and you don't have to worry about people forgetting to manually restrict those meeting notes. If it's a different group of people each time I don't know that there is a better way to have a dynamic set of restricted permissions.
I hope that helps!

Thanks Jimmy. Do you know if there is a way to set an automation up in Confluence where it automatically just shares permission with those who are tagged in the specific page?
