Hello everyone! I would be very grateful if you could give me a hand with the issue in the title.
What I would like to achieve is the following:
①There is a page, created from template "X", where users introduce datas on the blank spaces of a table.
In this case: the user filled "A", "B" and "C"
②Below the table there is a "Create from Template" macro button. After the user fills the table and updates it, he clicks the button, and a child page is created from template "Y".
③The table on the child page inherits (or reflects) some of the the answers that the user filled in the parent page from which the template was created
My issue is that "parent table" is not included in the selectable Excerpt Sources for the "Table Excerpt Include" macro, and therefore I cannot set the template to include answers that the user provided in the parent table.
Any ideas on how to implement this will be welcome!
I am unsure about me being a simple admin of the space being able to add plug ins, so being able to achieve this
Hi @Nimo ,
The option to search for any Excerpts on the parent page is not included into the Table Excerpt Include macro as for now.
As usual, the parent page is a place for the combined report, generated using the tables located lower on the Space page tree. And your case is somewhat the opposite one - your child page collects the table from the parent page.
The workaround may be to use manually created labels for the parent page (like test_1, test_2, test_3, etc.) and manually specifying them into the Table Excerpt Include macro (it may be faster than specifying the title of the specific parent page):
Thank you for your reply!
It's a pity that there is not a simple way to deal with this issue automatically.
In my case, it would be not viable to have all employees to manually add tags to every excerpt include.
I have seen a similar threads suggesting that user macros could be used to set labels automatically

I am new to Confluence so it may take me some time to understand and find out how to implement what these users are mentioning, but do you think this could be a workaround for this issue?

Maybe you'll come up with a structure where your parent page will collect child tables. Like switch your templates or smth. Then it will be much easier to handle everything.
