Table columns get squished on included page

I have a table 12 columns wide on its own page, with a header row. On a different page, I am using the include macro to display that table. In edit mode, it looks fine. The table is well-spaced across the available width of the page. But when I publish the page, the table columns are totally squished together, only 3 or 4 letters wide. The cell contents are wrapping in a way that they are impossible to read.

There is plenty of space to the right of the table, so why is the included table not expanding to use all the space?

The included page is part of an expand macro, so I thought that might be the problem. But the same squished columns happen even when I don't use the expand macro. It seems like I can't control the table width when using indluce. Any ideas?

@ingrid.berendt

Which macro did you take?
Excerpt-include or include?

Then take the excerpt-include macro

Thanks! My test page seemed to have worked! The table columns are no longer compressed.

Confirming back that this worked on my page content as well (not just test page). I am not clear why the "regular" include macro results in the narrow columns, but I am happy to have a work-around for this. Thanks all!
