Deleted user July 27, 2020

I have added table of contents macro to my page. After publishing the page, nothing visible under table of content. I made all configuration according to documentation of creating table of contents. I have 5 different contents under my page and nothing visible

Ex of my page: Own Cars

-BMW

-Audi

-Toyota

-Renault

-Opel

After adding Table of content to my main page (Own Cars) and publishing it

Hello Firat,

Thank you for following-up! Let me know if you have any trouble with that. As @Djahari Clark mentioned, the Page Tree macro might be useful for you too, if you need to show all pages under the space.

Take care,

Shannon

Hello @[deleted],

Welcome to Atlassian Community! It's nice to have you join us.

You mentioned that the sub-pages are not visible in your Table of Contents. However, the Table of Contents macro isn't supposed to display sub-pages of a parent page. What the macro does is scan the headings on the current Confluence page, and create a table of contents based on those headings. I've referred to the documentation above if you'd like to read more about how the macro works.

If you want to display sub-pages, then you're looking for the Children Display macro. The Children Display macro can be used to display children (sub-pages) of a single parent page.

I hope this is clear, but let me know if you have any questions about that!

Take care,

Shannon

Thank you, Shannon. As I am new to Confluence it takes a little exploring sometimes to figure out what I need, as the tutorial documentation is not always intuitive. Turns out what I needed was the "Page Tree" macro to create a table of contents of all the pages within that space.

I appreciate the detailed explanation, and am looking forward to getting more organized!

Take care,

Djahari

Hi Djahari,

No worries, glad this could help you you too!

Indeed, either the Page Tree macro or the Children Display macro will work in this situation. The difference is that the Page Tree macro shows all of the pages under a space, and the Children Display macro can be used to show just the children pages of a given page. That's better if you don't need to show every single page from a space.

Feel free to raise a new question if you find you are stuck with anything else, and we'll be happy to give you a hand.

Take care,

Shannon
