After updating our Confluence instance to version 8.7.1 the task report macros stopped showing tasks that had been created before the update.
All tasks that are newly created since the update are shown properly.
According to both of these KB articles:
it should suffice to delete the content of the table AO_BAF3AA_AOINLINE_TASK and restart confluence to have the table rebuilt. The mentioned entry in the table BANDANA does not exist.
I tested this approach on a test instance before doing it on the production instance, but even after restarting Confluence multiple times the table is not populated again. The macro doesn't show any task at all.
Flushing Caches or rebuilding the Content Index does not help, but I didn't really expect them to.
How can I rebuild the table, or is there any other way to show all tasks in the task report macro?
Thanks for your post and sorry to hear you've encountered some problems with the task report macro. We have some fixes for this coming in Confluence Data Center 8.7.2, which should be released in the next few weeks.
Kind regards,
Charlie
I can confirm that the issue is fixed with Confluence 8.7.2. Thank you very much.

Is there any workaround for this too?
Even though it´s a real pain in the ass to not seeing old tasks an update of the whole environment isn´t that easy for companies with big systems.
Any suggestion?
Best
Stefan

Hello,
We updated our Confluence test system from 8.7.2 to 9.03, with the same effect. The task macro did not display any tasks. In our case this workflow was funktional:

There have been some code changes for the inline task in Confluence v8.7.1.
We have found in some cases adding the dark feature to disable the new code changes has helped to fix the issue
Go to
https://confluence-staging.eoc.ch/plugins/servlet/rebuildindex
and click on Site reindex
Add the parameter below:
confluence.task-report.use-database-for-reports

For me this resulted in no tasks being visible at all, neither old nor new. Luckily, removing the entry from the darkfeatures returned the previous state.

the same thing happened to us

We are also having this issue after we updated to 8.7.1. Ticking/unticking (or vice-versa) the tasks in the pages causes them to show up again, but this obviously isn't a solution.

Good morning,
We also encountered the problem as soon as we updated to 8.7.1.
The workaround didn't work.
