Hello Community,
We are upgrading our production instance Confluence version and migrating the Server to the Data Center as well. Post upgrading we need to test the Confluence production instance with the different URL as it would be helpful for us to prevent the access to the end users during the testing. Post testing we would like to update the original/actual URL back in the production instance. Please let me know the steps to test the Confluence with the different URL.
Regards,
Dabin
@Dabin Daniel Sundaram It depends how you are deploying your new instance. Most individuals just update their licensing on their production instance. Any testing would be done on a development instance. We run our production instance and a test instance which is a clone of our production instance. When we migrated to data center we just refreshed our development instance (Server and DB) to match production. Updated the test instances license to data center and tested. Once we were done with testing we just updated the production instances licensing and were good to go. I would suggest just setting up a test instance that is a clone of prod and applying a new URL to that.
Hi @Brant Schroeder - Thanks for your response. We would like to test our production instance with the different URL after the upgrade and would like to update our actual URL back.
