The end date for Confluence version 8.5 is August 22nd. 2025

Иван Тарасов February 24, 2025

Hello, a warning started appearing: What does this check do? Checks whether the current version of the Merge is due or has reached its due date. The end date for Confluence version 8.5 is August 22nd. 2025: To maintain full access to support, update before this date. Did I understand correctly, do I need to upgrade from version 8.5 to a version higher than 8.6 or 8.7? If I want to upgrade to 9? Do I need to upgrade in stages?

Hi @Иван Тарасов

Yes you need to upgrade if you want to keep using a supported version of Confluence. Version you need to update to is your company choice, but I recommend updating to an LTS version.

The confluence LTS is currently 9.2. Everything should be explained in the link below.

Confluence 9.2 upgrade notes | Confluence Data Center 9.3 | Atlassian Documentation

Always test the update in a staging environment first.

1. Perform pre-upgrade checks
We analyzed your copy and found the following:
The current version of the database will no longer be supported. More details
We recommend that you resolve these issues before installing the update.

If it's not in the supported platform list it do not means it will not work. Atlassian will most likely do not investigate if you raise any ticket that could be due to database issue because they do not test nor support this version.
