I make the mistaken of trying the Convert to Folder feature on a page that had many subpages. It was a disaster.
WORSE, there's no way to fix this. There's no undo. I can find an archived version of the page, but there's literally no way to restore it. None of the methods described in the support documentation are even AVAILABLE, let alone functional.
How do I get my page back. I don't want to spend an hour moving sub-pages into a new parent page.
Hello @Rob B
Well, I don't even see the option to convert pages into a folder... Based on the docs, it's beta...
Anyway, the remedy is allegedly this
"When you convert a parent page into a folder, we are really just archiving the parent page and replacing it with a folder. Therefore, if you want to recover your parent page at any point, you can do so by going to Space settings > Archived pages."
Which I presume you tried...
Hi @Rob B I did the same thing.
I did retrieve my article from the Archived Pages, (as per @Kristian Klima solution - thanks Kristian)
Just beware that when the article is retrieved from the archived pool it is returned with the word "archived" at the beginning and will appear at the bottom of your content view. so it seems there will be some shuffling required to reinstate your files back to the correct parent and order in which they previously appeared. That's what I have done.
Cheers
Franc
