Hello there! As I understand, you need to limit the access of as specific user to an specific Space within Confluence. Is that correct Sam?
First, I would like to address how Permissions Work Within Confluence:
Confluence permissions are Additive. Which means that you need to Explicitly Say that someone has access to something and how much this someone can do there. Otherwise, there is no access.
With this in mind, we can completely remove access for users or groups by Removing Them From The Permissions list, as specified here Sam:
Assign Space Permissions - Revoke space permissions
To effectively remove access permissions from a user in Confluence Cloud :
- Click Settings in the Confluence sidebar
- Select Space Permissions
- Click Edit Permissions
- Uncheck all checkboxes for the user or group you need to remove
- Click Save
Now, the problem I see with your instance is that you are unable to find a specific user when you search. Could you clarify:
- Are you able to Find Another User when searching for it under the permissions screen?
- Can you actually Find The Affected User when searching for him somewhere else?
- When did you First Face this issue?
Let us know from you Sam! Looking forward to your reply.
Yes, i can find them.
But 2nd person to whom i have given access and they have provided access to 3rd person i am unable to find it . Unnecessarily it will trigger email.
As multiple user have access to the common space ,i am not sure who has provided the access o whom the email trigger is going.
Means without my knowledge its been given to others..thats the concern , unable to find who has provided.
