Unable to insert macros into page

I am unable to insert other macros onto any Confluence pages using the insert menu on a page while editing. I am also unable to edit existing macros that have previously been inserted. Me and all other users with editing privileges are experiencing the same issue. This issue has persisted for over 2 years. This issue can be reproduced in by clicking on any macro that has already been inserted onto a page in edit mode and then clicking 'edit' on the menu that pops up, or by clicking the toolbar's 'insert' option and then selecting 'other macros'. We are using version 5.9.1.

Hi @Emily Giron - which browser do you use? I made similar experiences with the version you mentioned when using Internet Explorer. Macros were unable to be clicked, names of macros were not shown - it made mess. 

Another idea that just came in my mind - are you working with collaborative editing? You should check if Synchrony is working. Doing a restart here may also help.

I use google chrome, but this issue has persisted across all browsers. I don't think we are using collaborative editing.

Thanks, that must be for the most recent version of Confluence, unfortunately we are still at 5.9.1 and contacted support about it and they cannot help since we are not at the most recent version. Trying to find a fix that does not involve upgrading our instance.
