Unable to type/ edit

When I attempt to edit a page in Confluence, and click the space I want to type, the flashing '|' appears for one moment (to indicate I can type) and then disappears. I am unable to type, copy/ paste etc. I have discovered that the '|' goes to the very top of the page and I could only type from the very beginning of the first line of the page.

Is there something I can do here or is this an ongoing issue with Confluence?
