Unexpected Error occurred - updating add ons

Hi,

I cant seem to update any of my add ons.

It keeps saying refer to logs but I'm unsure where this is.

After clicking Audit Log, the same message opens.

Can you provide some explanation for this so I can update the add ons in my portal.

Hello,

You can check <confluence_home>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log for more details as to why you are getting such failures.

As a first step, I would suggest clearing plug-ins cache by following How to clear Confluence plugins cache KB. In summary:

  1. Shutdown Confluence
  2. Ensure the user running Confluence has full read/write privileges to the confluence-home directory.
  3. Remove the following directories
    <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins

    <confluence-home>/plugins-cache

    <confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache

    <confluence-home>/plugins-temp

    <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins_language
  4. Start Confluence

I have followed these steps and there is nothing in the log but the same error occurs when trying to update the add ons.

Hello,

Can you check and make sure there is no restriction for accessing marketplace as per Problems Connecting to the Atlassian Marketplace KB? Your Confluence needs to have external internet access in order to download and update add-ons.

You can also try updating plug-in manually, by download JAR file directly from the marketplace and use upload app button. Addon will be automatically updated then.
