What can I do to make embedded Powerpoint or PDF load as preview (without endless loading)?

I want to push the usage of files in Confluence, and it's actually really great to show e.g. PDFs or PowerPoint files directly on a Confluence Page.

However, I very often just see the following.

Problems are there no matter if I use the PowerPoint macro or the standard macro that gets used by simply dragging & dropping the file to the page.

I would try editing the attachment to have the indexer re-index it. You could delete it and re-add it, re-upload over the top of the existing one, or make a change to the attachment properties by adding a comment to it or something like that. All these will trigger a re-index of the file. See if that helps.

Ok, it's good to have the knowledge that this triggers a re-index. Still it happens so often and it not reliable that people start avoiding to upload files. But sometimes files are part of collaboration, thus I hope that there is a way to make it more "stable".
