We have a number of spaces were pages have had a comments section at the foot of them and we have been using them actively.
If we make these pages the overview page for the space then the comments all disappear (from the web page).
I have read numerous "explanations" from Atlassian employees that this is "intended behaviour" and that "Overviews are not meant to have comments".
This is obviously BS as the comments are still there on the page but are hidden once they become an overview BUT they can still be seen perfectly using the Confluence App.
So my question is: How do we get the comments section to re-appear on the web page rendering of an overview?
And in case anyone is tempted to say "demote the page" - that is not what we want to do.
There is a feature request for this change and it has a couple of workarounds that people have mentioned work. I would suggest voting for the feature and trying out the workarounds. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-56967
Thanks for the suggestion Brant.
According to the last comment on that page, the workarounds do not work any more.
What really concerns me is that the initial request was made four years ago.
Added to that, I am pretty sure that you used to be able to have comments on the overview page - in fact we can still see ours from the app. It's only on the web page that they have been disabled.

@Nigel Allen Sorry I should have looked at the post more closely and tried the solution. I gave it a spin today and was not able to get it to work. There are often older requests that Atlassian implements. It depends a lot on the demand for the request. This one unfortunately does not have very many votes. You did use to be able to have them and at some point they removed them. I would suggest posting to the issue and voting for it.
