I have been assigned the simplest task ever. To show a list of contributors with their Confluence profile picture. To mi surprice, Confluence does not have a macro that does that. It has one for the contributors. It has another for the pictures of users on a gruop.
How difficult could it be to combine the two and create a macro that allows for a list of contributors along with their profile picture?
I have been searching into creating a user macro , but it seems that there is no information out there that could get me started on something like this.
Has any body found a work around this issue?
Jorge,
To help with the profile picture, you will need to use the Profile Picture Macro which might be one of the macros you're referring to already.
When you say you need to make a list of contributors, can you please specify what you mean by that? Are you trying to create a list of contributors for a specific page, users in a group, or contributors on a space?
It's likely you'll need to write a User Macro to complete that, but if you can be just a bit more specific about what it needs to do, the Community can help you with that.

Shannon
Hi Shannon,
I appreciate your answer.
The macro “Contributors Summary” does half of what I need. Its name says what it does. It creates a list of contributors for a given space, page, blog, etc. but it only shows the name of the contributors. The other half I need is that the contributor’s profile picture to also be displayed.
I know I could create groups, but that means I would have to constantly add users to that group to show their profile pictures whereas contributors summary keeps track of any change made by any user and updates it automatically on the contributors table.
Is there is any way I could “clone” the Contributors Summary macro and edit it accordingly?
Thanks,
Jorge

Hi Jorge,
This isn't something I've personally had any experience with, but I believe you can modify the macro via the JAR files in the system. Have a look below.
The system add-on that appears to control the Contributors Summary Macro is the Confluence Contributors Plugin.
Let us know if you have any questions about that.

Shannon
