We restricted a few pages in a space to a group of users. These pages are accessible by the group (through their URL for instance), but they are not visible anymore neither in the search, neither in the space menu on the left. So the issue is that users that have access can't find these pages anymore. They consider it's gone, lost, deleted, not accessible for them anymore but don't have the idea to check history or bookmarks which is anyway not a good solution.
I realized that the page disappear from the pages hierarchy once restricted. And reappear once the restriction removed.
Is there something we miss or misunderstand? We would expect the pages to still be accessible by authorised users from more or less anywhere in the app.
Is there a way to do that?
Hi @Kian Rieben @Victor Mutambuki ,
This is an existing bug, where Restricted pages do not display in the sidebar/search (only with an uppercase letter group).
You can track it here, https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-66775.
I would recommend you to add yourself in watchers list so you could get notified in case of an update, also vote for it and add the user-case in the comment section if you feel like, as it will help developers to understand your issue more specific manner.
The available Workaround is- 'either add the users to a new group that will not use uppercase letters in the group name OR add the users individually to the page restriction'.
You can follow the provided workaround until the bug is resolved.
Hope this helps. :)
Thank you.
Kian,
What steps or how did you restrict the pages?
As far as i know, you restrict pages on an individual basis and not as a group. See link below for more info.

Actually, you can select a "group" to give access to the page to all users in that group:

Kian,
You're right. I must have missed that part. I don't see why users suddenly can't view a page that they were able to see before. Have you tried to reindex confluence?
