Will Content ReIndexing Cause Confluence to be Inaccessible?

Hi Everyone,

Planning to re-index Confluence as the search bar does not show results expected (example, searching for a username).

Was reading the user guides for Confluence but it doesn't mention if Confluence will become inaccessible if re-index happens. Although, some paragraphs say Confluence might become slow, under certain conditions.

Will re-index of Confluence content be done as background re-index or will it totally lock Confluence while re-index happens?

Confluence version is 6.3.4.

Thanks in advance.

It's done in the background.  Yes, it can make Confluence slow while it runs, but it doesn't need to lock it so you can carry on using it.
