Will site XML import into the existing Confluence site rewrite/replace everything?

Hi,

I am tasked to decommission one Confluence site and move all 80 spaces to a different site.

Rather then exporting space by space, I want to try site export, but from the description it looks like it will overwrite everything in existing site, instead of merging these 2 sites together. Can someone confirm how this works?

It will overwrite everything in the destination instance, and if you want to import those 80 spaces right along to the existing ones, then you indeed need to do this one by one.
