Hello!
Our company used the macro toolbox (HTML, Tabs and Expand) for a lot of pages.
We learned that this macro has been removed from the Atlassian Marketplace and will be replaced with an Unknown macro message in our confluence pages.
Will our content disappear? Is there a simple way to keep the content of the pages that were using these Macros?
Thank you!
Hi Nora,
Update: We added drop-in replacement for HTML macro from Macro Toolbox in HTML & Iframe Macro for Confluence
Please note that this only covers HTML macro, not Tabs and Expand macros.
Please follow these steps:
- Remove Macro Toolbox from Confluence (contact Atlassian support if uninstall is disabled)
- Install HTML & Iframe Macro for Confluence
All the old contents will be properly rendered.
Old reply: As you have already seen, macro displays error message. The content behind the macro is till there, it is just not rendered as the app is discontinued.
In order to make contents render properly, you will need to migrate them to new apps. If you are using HTML Macro, you can use our app: HTML & Iframe Macro for Confluence
To migrate contents:
- Open old macro in edit mode and copy contents
- Open new macro and paste the contents
This way, they will be rendered properly again.
We won't be able to get to all our instances of MacroToolbox by the end of April. What happens to the content in the Macro when we can't open it any more?
